2.64.010 - Created.

Pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 34291, a housing commission (hereafter, commission) is created to advise the Shasta County housing authority on matters within the authority's jurisdiction.

2.64.020 - Membership—Term—Removal.

The commission shall be composed of five members appointed by the board of supervisors and one additional member appointed by the mayor of each city in the county which has not formed its own housing authority. No appointee shall be an officer or employee of his appointing agency. Regardless of when appointed, the term of office of each commissioner shall end at twelve noon on the first Monday after January 1st of each odd numbered year. A commissioner may be removed by his appointing authority at any time during his term of office. Vacancies shall be filled by the board or officer making the original appointment in the same manner as the original appointment. Commissioners shall serve without compensation unless otherwise provided by the board of supervisors by resolution.

2.64.030 - Organization.

The commission shall elect a chairman and vice chairman and other necessary officers from among its members for a one-year term. The commission shall hold meetings as necessary. It shall adopt procedural rules for the transaction of its business.
