2.49.010 - Established—Statutory authority.¶
The office of county hearing officer of the county is established, pursuant to Section 27720 of the Government Code of the state of California. The county hearing officer is authorized to hear proposed actions and objections from the party or parties which are the subject of a code enforcement action.

2.49.020 - Appointment.¶
The board of supervisors delegates to the county administrative officer the authority to designate a person or body to serve as the hearing officer or body for any code enforcement action requiring a hearing, pursuant to Shasta County Code, Chapters 8.28 and 10.04. The county administrative officer may designate more than one county hearing officer; however, no more than one hearing officer shall preside over any particular proceeding under Chapters 8.28 and 10.04 of this code. Compensation for the county hearing officer may be established by resolution of the board of supervisors.

2.49.030 - Duties.¶
The county hearing officer shall preside over and conduct all hearings under Chapters 8.28 and 10.04 pursuant to the hearing procedures adopted by the board of supervisors pursuant to Resolution 95-93.
