2.20.010 - Statutory authority—Search and rescue.

This section is adopted under and pursuant to authority contained in Section 26614 of the Government Code of the state. The sheriff of the county of Shasta is authorized to search for and rescue persons who are lost or in danger of their lives within or in the immediate vicinity of the county of Shasta. The expenses of the sheriff for searches and rescues pursuant to this chapter shall be borne by the county or city and county of residence of the persons searched for as provided in Government Code Section 26614.5.

2.20.020 - Jail education facilities.

Pursuant to Education Code section 1907, the board of supervisors may provide for the establishment and maintenance of school facilities in the county jail or any county industrial farm, or county or joint county road camp, and such schools may be maintained by the governing board of any school district maintaining secondary schools pursuant to contract with the board of supervisors.
