2.16.010 - Established—Statutory authority.¶
The office of county counsel of the county of Shasta, is established pursuant to Section 27640 of the Government Code of the state of California. The county counsel shall discharge all the duties vested in the attorney other than those of public prosecutor.

2.16.020 - Term.¶
In accordance with Section 27641 of the Government Code of the state the county counsel shall serve for four years from the time of his appointment and until a successor is appointed, unless he be removed for cause pursuant to the terms of Section 27641 of the Government Code of the state.

2.16.030 - Bond.¶
The official bond of the county counsel is fixed in the sum of two thousand eight hundred fifty dollars, and premiums therefore shall be a charge against the county of Shasta.

2.16.040 - Attorney for public administrator.¶
Pursuant to Government Code Section 27643 the county counsel of this county shall act as attorney for the public administrator in all estates in which he is executor, administrator with the will annexed or administrator.
