Article II — LICENSE TAXES

39.1.

Street vendors/peddlers, the sum of twenty five dollars ($25.00) semiannually for each vehicle, cart, or any other type of

conveyance.

  1. Taxicabs or vehicles for hire, the sum of twenty five dollars ($25.00) semiannually for each vehicle.

  2. Trade school. Every person engaged in conducting or operating a trade school shall be licensed under the gross receipts

section 15-23, classification B, of this article.

  1. Transient trailer and recreation vehicle parks shall be licensed under the gross receipts section15-23, classification B, of this

article.

  1. Trucking or delivering, with offices within the city, but not subject to public utilities commission regulations, shall be licensed

under the gross receipts section 15-23, classification D, of this article.

  1. Trucking or delivering, with offices outside the city, but not subject to the public utilities commission regulations, shall pay the

sum of twenty five dollars ($25.00) semiannually for each vehicle with one ton or less load capacity, and the sum of thirty five dollars ($35.00) semiannually for each vehicle with load capacity of over one ton.

B. Any business not designated under this section or in any other section of this chapter or in any other ordinance or code of the city of Porterville shall be licensed under section 15-23 of this article.

All licenses shall be paid in advance, in the legal currency of the United States, at the office of the city.

No greater or less amount of money shall be charged or received for any license than is provided in this chapter, and no license shall be sold or issued for any period of time other than is provided in this chapter.
