Petaluma Municipal Code Ch. 17.04 California Codes Based on International Codes for

CONSTRUCTION AND REGULATION OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES

Pursuant to Section 50022.2 of the California Government Code, the following codes are adopted by reference,

including the amendments listed in this chapter which are made pursuant to the Zndings of fact set forth in the

ordinance codiZed in this section:

A. Part 1—2025 California Administrative Code;

B. Part 2—2025 California Building Code based on the 2024 International Building Code, including Appendix J

(Grading), Appendix N (Replicable Buildings), and Appendix Q (Emergency Housing) in their entirety except as

amended in Section 17.04.020;

C. Part 2.5—2025 California Residential Code based on the 2024 International Residential Code including

Appendix BG (Sound Transmission), Appendix BH (Automatic Vehicular Gates), Appendix BB (Tiny Houses),

Appendix BI (Light Straw-Clay Construction), Appendix CI (Swimming Pool Safety Act), and Appendix CH

(Emergency Housing) in their entirety except as amended in Section 17.04.020;

D. Part 3—2025 California Electrical Code based on the 2023 National Electrical Code;

E. Part 4—2025 California Mechanical Code based on the 2024 Uniform Mechanical Code;

F. Part 5—2025 California Plumbing Code based on the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code;

G. Part 6—2025 California Energy Code;

H. Part 7—2025 California Wildland-Urban Interface Code;

I. Part 8—2025 California Historical Building Code;

J. Part 10—2025 California Existing Building Code based on the 2024 International Existing Building Code;

K. Part 11—2025 California Green Building Standards Code including Appendix A4 at Tier 1 level requirements

(Residential Voluntary Measures) and Appendix A5 at Tier 1 level requirements (Nonresidential Voluntary

Measures);

L. Part 12—2025 California Referenced Standards Code;

M. 2024 International Property Maintenance Code.

All references to permit fees in the codes adopted by reference are deleted pursuant to the ordinance codiZed in

this section. Instead, the permit fees applicable in Petaluma will be Zxed by the fee schedules adopted by the city

Part 2 of the 2025 California Building Standards Code, California Building Code, as adopted in Section 17.04.010, is
