10.40.010 - Excess weight/size permit.

The following procedure and fees are established for the securing of special permits authorizing the applicant to operate or move a vehicle, or combination of vehicles, or special mobile equipment of size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in the California Vehicle Code.

A. Any person desiring to operate or move a vehicle, or combination of vehicles, or special mobile equipment of size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in the California Vehicle Code, shall apply in writing to the public works department of the city, for a special permit authorizing the person to do so. Upon good cause being shown in the application, the director of public works shall issue the special permit authorizing the applicant to operate or move a vehicle, or combination of vehicles, or special mobile equipment of size or weight of vehicle or load exceeding the maximum specified in the Vehicle Code of the state.

B. The applicant shall pay such fees for special permits as shall be established from time to time by resolution of the city council.
