4.02.010 - Decrease of state speed limits.¶
A. Residence District. All streets within the City limits of Monte Sereno, except for the streets listed in Section 4.02.010.B, are deemed within "residence district" as defined in California Vehicle Code section 515 and therefore have a prima facie speed limit of twenty-five (25) miles per hour.
B. Decrease of state speed limits. It is hereby determined, upon the basis of engineering and traffic investigation that the speed permitted by State law on certain streets, outside business and residence districts as defined in the California Vehicle Code, is greater than is reasonable or safe under the conditions found to exist upon such streets. It is hereby declared that the prima facie speed limit for the following streets or parts thereof shall be as following:
