15.36.010 - Muir Woods Road Preferential Parking Corridor.¶
Pursuant to the power provided Marin County under California Vehicle Code Section 22507, the board of supervisors prohibits the parking of vehicles on Muir Woods Road (Franks Valley Road) in the portion of said road designated within the Muir Woods Road Preferential Parking Corridor, as defined below, other than parking by vehicles of visitors of the Muir Woods National Monument which have been issued a permit for such parking by the National Park Service (NPS), owner of the Muir Woods National Monument adjacent to Muir Woods Road (Franks Valley Road). The board of supervisors authorizes NPS to establish a preferential parking program whereby NPS may issue, and charge and retain a reservation fee for, permits for vehicles to park in the parking management corridor, which is reasonable and necessary to ensure the effectiveness of the preferential parking program. Violations for motorists infractions of preferential parking for NPS and/or its permittees shall not be enforced until the locations have been adequately signed. The Muir Woods Road Preferential Parking Corridor shall begin at mile post 1.77 and extend southerly and westerly to mile post 2.32 except for locations within the Muir Woods parking fine zone designated in Marin County Code Section 15.33.033.

15.36.020 - Bolinas residential parking program.¶
Pursuant to the power provided Marin County under California Vehicle Code Section 22507, the Bolinas Residential Parking Program is established. Parking of vehicles within the Bolinas Residential Parking Zone is restricted to those roads and hours to be established by resolution, other than parking by vehicles of residents that have been issued a permit for such parking. Violations of this provision shall not be enforced until the locations have been adequately signed. Violations will be subject to a fine set by the board of supervisors pursuant to section 15.60.010 of this code.

15.36.030 - Seventy-two-hour limit.¶
It shall be unlawful to park a vehicle on a street or highway within the unincorporated area of county for a period in excess of seventy-two consecutive hours. A vehicle shall be considered to have been parked for a consecutive period of seventy-two hours if it has not been moved at least five hundred feet from its original parked location prior to the expiration of the seventy-two-hour period.

15.36.040 - Removal of violating vehicles.¶
Any member of the California Highway Patrol or any regularly employed and salaried deputy of the county sheriff's office is authorized to remove to the nearest garage any vehicle which has been parked or left standing upon a street or highway within the unincorporated territory in Marin County for seventy-two or more consecutive hours.

15.36.050 - Notice of removal—Lien for storage.¶
In the event any such officer removes a vehicle from a public street or highway as authorized by Section 15.36.040, such officer shall give the notices as provided in Chapter 10, Division 11 of the Vehicle Code of the state of California and the keeper of any garage in which any such vehicle is stored may have a lien upon such vehicle for his compensation for towage and for caring for and keeping such vehicle and may satisfy such lien upon compliance with and under the conditions stated in Chapter 10, Division 11 of the Vehicle Code of the state of California.

15.36.060 - No parking of any vehicles at any time.¶
(a) On those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County Board of Supervisors by resolution, no vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code section 670) may be parked at any time. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage, curb markings, or pavement markings informing the public of these restrictions have been installed.
(b) All prior resolutions adopted to prohibit parking of any vehicle at any time, excluding those resolutions or ordinances adopted to prohibit parking under Marin County Code sections 15.33.030—15.33.033, shall be enforced according to the provisions of this section and as currently posted until amended or rescinded and any modifications made to posted signs or markings.
(c) Every person violating this section shall be guilty of an infraction, punishable by a fine in an amount to be established by resolution of the board of supervisors, as amended from time to time.

15.36.070 - No parking of any vehicles overnight or at specified times.¶
(a) On those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County Board of Supervisors by resolution, no vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code section 670) may be parked at those specified locations between the hours indicated in a resolution and on posted signs. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.
(b) All prior resolutions to prohibit parking for hours indicated by resolution and on posted signs shall be enforced according to the provisions of this section and as currently posted until amended or rescinded and any modifications made to posted signs or markings.
(c) Every person violating this section shall be guilty of an infraction, punishable by a fine in an amount to be established by resolution of the board of supervisors, as amended from time to time.

15.36.080 - No overnight parking of vehicles, except for automobiles, motorcycles, and pickups.¶
With the exception of automobiles, motorcycles (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 400), and pickups (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 471), on those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County Board of Supervisors by resolution, no vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 670) may be parked at those specified locations between the hours of eleven p.m. and five a.m. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.

15.36.085 - No parking of vehicles, except for automobiles, motorcycles, and pickups.¶
With the exception of automobiles, motorcycles (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 400), and pickups (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 471), on those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County board of supervisors by resolution, no vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 670) may be parked at any time. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.

15.36.090 - No parking overnight of oversized, commercial vehicles.¶
On those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County Board of Supervisors by resolution, no oversized, commercial vehicle may be parked at those specified locations between the hours of eleven p.m. and five a.m. For purposes of this section, "oversized, commercial vehicle" means a vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 670) or combination of vehicles, trailer and/or auxiliary equipment with a commercial license plate and overall length (as measured bumper-to-bumper or, on vehicles lacking bumpers, front-to-back) of more than twenty-two feet. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.

15.36.091 - No parking of oversized vehicles.¶
(1) On those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County Board of Supervisors by resolution, no oversized vehicle may be parked at those specified locations either:
(a) At any time; or
(b) During the hours indicated on posted signs.
(2) For purposes of this section, "oversized vehicle" means a vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 670) or combination of vehicles, trailer and/or auxiliary equipment with an overall length (as measured bumper-to-bumper or, on vehicles lacking bumpers, front-to-back) of more than twenty-two feet.
(3) This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.
(4) Every person violating this section adopted under this section shall be punished upon conviction by a fine established by resolution of the board of supervisors, as amended from time to time. Pursuant to Section 22651(n) of the California Vehicle Code, the County Sheriff and California Highway Patrol are authorized to tow away vehicles parked in violation of this section.

15.36.095 - No parking of oversized, commercial vehicles.¶
On those county roads or locations specified by the Marin County board of supervisors by resolution, no oversized, commercial vehicle may be parked at those specified locations at any time. For purposes of this section, "oversized, commercial vehicle" means a vehicle (as defined in the California Vehicle Code Section 670) or combination of vehicles, trailer and/or auxiliary equipment with a commercial license plate and overall length (as measured bumper-to-bumper or, on vehicles lacking bumpers, front-to-back) of more than twenty-two feet. This section may not be enforced until adequate signage informing the public of these restrictions has been installed.

15.36.100 - Penalties.¶
With the exception of those sections within which a penalty is specified, violation of any section within this chapter is an infraction punishable by a fine in the amount of one hundred dollars. A violation consisting of overnight parking shall be considered a single infraction for each overnight parking period that the violation occurs.
