Editor's note— Ord. No. 516, § I, adopted December 3, 2019, repealed the former Chapter 15.28, §§ 15.28.010—15.28.040, and § II of Ord. No. 516 enacted a new Chapter 15.28 as set out herein. The former Chapter 15.16 pertained to similar subject matter and derived from Ord. No. 491, adopted March 7, 2017.

The 2019 edition of the California Green Building Standards Code, Title 24, Part 11, including tables and appendices, as adopted by the California Building Standards Commission in Title 24, Part 11 of the California Code of Regulations, and all future amendments thereto, are hereby adopted in the City of Ione. A copy of this code is available for use and examination by the public at the Office of the Clerk of the City of Ione.

The tier requirements and measures set forth in Appendices A4 and A5 are not adopted as mandatory but may voluntarily be included in any level or degree by the owner or applicant of any permit.

The California Green Building Standards Code herein adopted shall be enforced by the Building Department of the City of Ione.

Violation of this chapter is a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than $1,000.00, or by imprisonment for not more than six months, or by both. The imposition of one penalty for any violation shall not excuse the violation or permit to continue. All violations shall be corrected or remedied within a reasonable time and, if not otherwise specified, each ten days that the violation is maintained shall constitute a separate offense. The application of a penalty shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited conditions.
