Editor's note— Ord. No. 514, § I, adopted December 3, 2019, repealed the former Chapter 15.21, §§ 15.21.010—15.21.030, and § II of Ord. No. 514 enacted a new Chapter 15.21 as set out herein. The former Chapter 15.21 pertained to similar subject matter and derived from Ord. No. 488, adopted March 7, 2017.

The 2019 edition of the California Historical Building Code, Title 24, Part 8, including Tables and Appendix "A", as adopted by the California Building Standards Commission in Title 24, Part 8 of the California Code of Regulations, and all future amendments thereto, are hereby adopted in the City of Ione. A copy of this code is available for use and examination by the public at the Office of the Clerk of the City of Ione.

The California Historical Building Code herein adopted shall be enforced by the Building Department of the City of Ione.

In the event that initial administrative remedies in the California Building Standards Code (Title 24) are not successful in achieving compliance, then Article II (Code Enforcement) of Chapter 1.10 of Title 1 of the Ione Municipal Code (IMC), IMC Title 1, Chapter 1.08 (General Penalty), and IMC Title 1, Chapter 1.10 (Administrative Enforcement Provisions), will be followed for enforcement of penalties. The application of a penalty shall not be held to prevent the enforced removal of prohibited conditions.
