§ 5-6.401. Unlawful games.

It shall be unlawful for any person in the City, either as owner, lessee, licensee, manager, employee, agent, or servant, to conduct, manage, carry on, maintain, operate, play, or use, or cause or permit to be conducted, managed, carried on, maintained, operated, played, or used, in any store, hotel, club, railway station, bus station, automobile service station, or in any place used by or frequented by the general public, any ball and pin game, or marble game, or mechanical baseball or football game, or mechanical card game, or any slot machine or claw machine operated by the use of coins, slugs, or tokens of any kind or character wherein any prize, score, gift, rebate, compensation, reward, award, payment, or gratuity consisting of any money, check, token, credit, goods, wares, merchandise, property, or thing of value is, or is to be given, awarded, or delivered, either directly or indirectly, and wherein chance is a determining factor (or is any determining factor of the result of such game), or any mechanical vending device by which it is possible to obtain any more or less or different article or result or score from one operation or one play of such game or mechanical device than from another, or through or by reason of which one person shall, or may, receive more or less or a different result from the playing or operating thereof than another person.

§ 5-6.402. Maintenance of unlawful games.

It shall be unlawful for any person leasing, owning, managing, controlling, or having any interest in any property or premises in the City, having knowledge of, or after reasonable notice of the existence of any games set forth in Section 5-6.401 of this article and by the provisions of this article declared to be unlawful, to cause or permit the maintenance or operation thereof in or on such property or premises, or to redeem any check, slug, token, or other thing dispensed by such games.
