§ 5-38.01. Definitions.¶
For the purposes of this chapter, unless otherwise apparent from the context, certain words and phrases used in this chapter are defined as follows:
"Gumball machine"
includes any machine which either gratuitously or in return for the deposit of a coin, token, or similar device, dispenses chewing gum.
"Person"
includes any individual, proprietorship, partnership, copartnership, corporation, firm, association, or other legal entity.

§ 5-38.02. Gumball machines prohibited in the downtown business improvement district.¶
No person shall maintain any gumball machine, either in or outside of his or her business establishment, on Pacific Boulevard within the downtown Huntington Park Business Improvement District, for the purchase of chewing gum by individuals.

§ 5-38.03. Exceptions.¶
The provisions of this chapter do not apply to the retail sale of gumball machines, as opposed to the maintenance of gumball machines for the individual sale of chewing gum.
