El Centro Municipal Code Div. 8 Director of Community Services

There is hereby established the position of director of community services. The director of community services for the city shall be appointed by the city manager and be responsible to city manager or his/her designee. Whenever in city documents, including the City Code, the terms "director of economic development" or "director of parks and recreation" are used, they shall mean "director of community services."

The director of community services ("director") shall be in charge of the economic development division, the parks and recreation division ("community services department"). The director shall supervise all employees in the community services department. The director shall administer, control, and supervise all assigned functions of the community services department subject to the approval of the city manager or his/her designee. The director shall also be in charge of all recreation programs and parks maintenance of the city and shall administer, control, regulate and supervise parks and assigned recreation facilities, subject to the approval of the city manager and the city council.
