Chino Municipal Code Ch. 10.15 Spectators Prohibited at Speed Contests and Exhibitions

10.15.010 - Definitions.

For the purposes of Chapter 10.15, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectfully given to them by this section.

A. "Spectator" means either (1) a person who watches or observes an event or act, or (2) a person who is present within one hundred yards of a location where an act or event is occurring, is about to occur, or has occurred within the last thirty minutes.

B. "Public Street" means any roadway or vehicle route opened accessible to the public for the purpose of operating a motor vehicle.

C. "Speed Contest" has the same meaning as in section 23109 of the California Vehicle Code.

D. "Exhibitions" means any show or display of speed from a motor vehicle.

10.15.020 - Spectators prohibited at speed contests and exhibitions.

It is unlawful for any person to be knowingly present, as a spectator, at any motor vehicle speed contest or exhibition conducted on a public street either as preparations for the speed contest or exhibition are being made, while the speed contest or exhibition is occurring, or for thirty minutes after any such speed contest or exhibition has ended.

10.15.030 - Violation—Penalty.

Any person violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than ninety days or by a fine of not less than two hundred fifty dollars, nor more than one thousand dollars, or both fine and imprisonment. This section does not interfere with the court's power to grant probation in a suitable case.
