Sec. 4-9.1301. - Gross weight limits.

The Public Works Director, on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, and when authorized by a resolution of the City Council, shall erect and maintain official traffic control devices on any streets or parts of streets to impose gross weight limits as prescribed by the California Vehicle Code.

Sec. 4-9.1303. - Size restrictions.

Sec. 4-9.1304. - Excluding specified traffic.

The Public Works Director, on the basis of an engineering and traffic survey, is authorized by the City Council to determine and designate those streets upon which shall be prohibited any class or kind of traffic which is found to be incompatible with the normal and safe movement of traffic and shall erect appropriate official traffic control devices giving notice thereof.

Sec. 4-9.1305. - Truck routes.

(a) The Public Works Director, when authorized by an ordinance of the City Council, shall appropriately sign and mark streets, or portions of streets, as a "truck route" for the movement of vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of five tons.

(b) When any such truck routes are established and designated by appropriate signs and markings, the operator of any vehicle exceeding a gross weight limit of five tons shall drive on such routes and no other streets, except when necessary to traverse another street to a destination for the purpose of loading and unloading, but then only by such deviation from the nearest truck route as is necessary. The posting or marking of non-truck route streets shall not be required to prohibit travel by vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of five tons except as otherwise provided in this paragraph. The provisions of this section shall not apply to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the Public Utilities Commission of the State or to the HubArea Transit Authority.

(c) The following streets, or portions of streets, are hereby declared to be truck routes for the movement of vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight of five tons:

(1) Market Street from the north Colusa Avenue Frontage Road to its northerly terminus (junction with Queens Avenue.

(2) Butte House Road from Tharp Road to the City limits.

(3) Sutter Street from Colusa Avenue to Second Street.

(4) Second Street from Sutter Street to B Street.

(5) Plumas Street from Bridge Street to B Street.

(6) Reserved.

(7) Cooper Avenue from Colusa Avenue to Bridge Street.

(8) Gray Avenue from Colusa Avenue to Forbes Avenue.

(9) Percy Avenue from B Street to Garden Highway.

(10) Reserved.

(11) Bridge Street from Second Street to Cooper Avenue.

(12) B Street from Second Street to Percy Avenue.

(13) Franklin Avenue from Highway 99 west to the City limits.

(14) Poole Boulevard from Tharp Road to Civic Center Boulevard.

(15) Civic Center Boulevard from the southerly terminus, south of Colusa Highway, to Poole Boulevard.

(16) Live Oak Highway from Colusa Avenue to the north City limits.

(17) Walton Avenue, that portion within the City limits.

(18) Queens Avenue from its easterly terminus (junction with Market Street) to Live Oak Boulevard.

(19) Franklin Avenue from Percy Avenue to Garden Highway.

(20) Garden Highway from Franklin Avenue to the south City limits.

(21) Forbes Avenue from Gray Avenue to Cooper Avenue.

(22) Lincoln Road from west City limits to east City limits.

(23) Railroad Avenue from Lincoln Road to south City limits.

(24) Bridge Street, that portion within the City limits between Highway 99 and Walton Avenue.

(25) West on Stott Frontage Road, that portion south of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks within the City limits.

(26) Tharp Road, that portion within the City limits between Butte House Road and Lassen Boulevard.

(27) Bogue Road, that portion within the City limits between Highway 99 and Garden Highway.

(28) Burns Drive, from Garden Highway to Putman Avenue.

(29) Epley Drive, from Garden Highway to Putman Avenue.

(30) Hassett Avenue, from Epley Drive to Burns Drive.

(31) Putman Avenue, from Epley Drive to Burns Drive.

(32) Harter Parkway, between Butte House Road and Highway 20.

(33) George Washington Boulevard, that portion within the City limits.

(34) Industrial Drive, in its entirety from the north intersection with George Washington Boulevard to the south intersection with George Washington Boulevard.

(35) Lassen Boulevard, between Tharp Road and Walton Avenue.

(d) No person shall drive a vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of five tons upon any street not designated as a truck route or as permitted pursuant to this article.

Sec. 4-9.1306. - Prohibited truck parking.

In accordance with the provisions of Section 4-9.1305(c) of this article, relating to truck routes, no person shall at any time cause trucks or semitrailers to be parked upon any street not so designated as a truck route in accordance with Section 4-9.1305(c) of this article. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 4-9.1305(c), the Council, by resolution, may designate on any truck route street, or portion of a truck route street, deemed to create an unsafe or hazardous condition, areas where the parking of trucks or semitrailers shall be prohibited. Upon such designation by resolution of the Council, and with the placement of signs prohibiting the parking of trucks and or semitrailers on any such truck route street, or portion thereof, the parking of trucks shall be prohibited. The posting or marking of non-truck route streets shall not be required to prohibit the parking of trucks on such streets.
