Part I. - General Plan Chapter 17.02 - AUTHORITY AND SCOPE

17.02.010 - Adoption—Purpose.

The city shall maintain a comprehensive, long-term general plan for the physical development of the city, and of any land outside its boundaries which in the city's judgment bears relation to its planning. The general plan and its elements and parts shall comprise an integrated, internally consistent and compatible statement of policies for the city.

17.02.020 - Development policies—Elements to be included.

The general plan shall consist of a statement of development policies and shall include a diagram or diagrams and text setting forth objectives, principles, standards, and plan proposals. It shall contain the mandatory elements specified in Section 65302 of the Government Code and successor legislation, to the extent that such successor legislation is made applicable to charter cities. It shall include any other element made mandatory upon charter cities by the Government Code, and may include such other elements as may from time to time be deemed proper or advisable.
