3.08.010 - Vehicle code definitions apply.¶
Whenever any words or phrases used herein are not defined herein but are now defined in the Vehicle Code of this State, such definitions are incorporated herein and shall be deemed to apply to such words and phrases used herein.

3.08.020 - Other definitions.¶
Whenever in this chapter, the following words and phrases set forth in this article are used, they shall, for the purpose of this chapter, have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this article:
(a) "Alley." Any street less than twenty (20') feet in width between property lines.
(b) "Loading zone." That space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.
(c) "Official traffic control devices." All signs, signals, markings and devices not inconsistent with this chapter placed or erected by authority of a public body or official having jurisdiction, for the purpose of regulating, warning or guiding traffic.
(d) "Parkway." That portion of a street other than a roadway or a sidewalk.
(e) "Passenger loading zone." That space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.
(f) "Pedestrian." Any person afoot.
(g) "Police Officer." Every officer of the Police Department of this City.

"Stop," when required, means complete cessation of movement.
(2) "Stop or stand," when prohibited, means any stopping of a vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with direction of a police officer or official traffic control device.
(3) "Park." The standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading passengers or materials.
(i) "Traffic." Pedestrians or vehicles, either singly or together, while using any street for purpose of travel.
(j) "Traffic Engineer." The Traffic Engineer is the person appointed to that position by the City Manager.
