The department of parks, recreation and neighborhood services is hereby established and includes the parks and recreation department established by Charter Section 807.

2.04.3610 Department head designated. ¶

The director of parks, recreation and neighborhood services shall be the head of the department of parks, recreation and neighborhood services.

2.04.3620 Functions, powers and duties. ¶

In addition to those general functions, powers and duties given to the department head by this chapter and other provisions of this Code, the director shall:

A. Plan and administer the use of neighborhood parks and recreation facilities, and city's regional recreational facilities.
B. Plan, administer and conduct recreational and social service programs.
C. Plan and administer specific programs and services for youth.
D. Perform such other programs or functions related to human, neighborhood, park, or recreation services that the city council or the city manager may, from time to time, authorize or request.
