Perris Municipal Code Ch. 10.42 Parking Restrictions on Commercial and Other Vehicles

Sec. 10.42.010. - Parking prohibitions on certain vehicles.¶
(a) Except as provided in section 10.42.020, it is unlawful for any person to park or leave standing on any street or alley within the city any of the following types of vehicles:
(1) Any truck tractor, with or without any attached trailer or semitrailer;
(2) Any trailer or semitrailer, whether or not attached to a truck tractor;
(3) Any commercial vehicle. As used in this chapter, the term "commercial vehicle" means a vehicle, as defined in section 260 of the California Vehicle Code, which has a manufacturer's gross weight rating of 10,000 pounds or more.
(b) It is unlawful to park or leave standing within 100 feet of any street intersection, or within 100 feet of any official traffic control device, any vehicle which is six feet or more in height, including the height of any load thereon.
(c) It is unlawful to park or leave standing on any street or alley within the city any truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer or commercial vehicle so that any part of such vehicle is within 30 feet of any driveway opening.
(d) It is unlawful to park or leave standing on any street or alley within the city any truck trailer, trailer, semitrailer or commercial vehicle so that any part of such vehicle is within 50 feet of any part of any other truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer or commercial vehicle.
(e) Except as provided in section 10.42.020, it is unlawful to park or leave standing any truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer or commercial vehicle on private property within a residential district.
(f) It is unlawful to park or leave standing on commercially or industrially zoned private property any truck tractor, trailer, semitrailer or commercial vehicle so that any part of such vehicle is within ten feet of the property line, or of a public sidewalk, or of a public easement.
(g) It is unlawful to park or leave standing on any street or alley within the city any vehicle which contains any hazardous substance as defined in section 2452 of the California Vehicle Code.
(h) It is unlawful to park or leave standing within 300 feet of any human dwelling place, except with the consent of the person in charge of each such dwelling place, any vehicle which is used to transport animals and which harbors vermin or pestilence or which emits noxious or noisome odors.

Sec. 10.42.020. - Exceptions.¶
(a) The restrictions and prohibitions set forth in section 10.42.010(a) and (c) through (h) shall not apply in the following instances:
(1) During the first 24 hours during which a vehicle is mechanically disabled;
(2) During that period of time in which property is actually being unloaded from or loaded into a vehicle;
(3) During that period of time in which a vehicle is parked or left standing in connection with, and in aid of, ongoing performance of a service to or on a property located in the city block in which such vehicle is parked or left standing.
(b) The restrictions and prohibitions set forth in section 10.42.010(a) shall not apply to the parking or standing of a vehicle in a commercial or industrial zone for periods of two consecutive hours or less while the operator of such vehicle is taking a meal or rest break.
