Sec. 10.40.010. - Establishment need.¶
It is for the best interests of the people of the city and the orderly handling of traffic that truck routes be established within the city for trucks, tractors, trailers and other vehicles exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of five tons.

Sec. 10.40.020. - Truck routes designated.¶
The following streets and highways in the city are hereby designated truck traffic routes and shall be identified and posted with appropriate signs:
(1) Interstate 215: From its northerly city limits to its southerly city limits.
(2) Western Way: From its northerly city limits to Harley Knox Boulevard.
(3) Harley Knox Boulevard: From Interstate 215 to Redlands Avenue.
(4) Indian Avenue: From Northern City limits to Placentia Avenue.
(5) Perris Boulevard: From its northerly city limit to Harley Knox Boulevard.
(6) Redlands Avenue: From Harley Knox Boulevard to Rider Street.
(7) Morgan Street: From Interstate 215 to Redlands Avenue.
(8) Rider Street: From Interstate 215 to Perris Boulevard.
(9) Placentia Avenue: From Interstate 215 to Perris Boulevard.
(10) State Highway 74 (Fourth Street): From its westerly city limits to its easterly city limits.
(11) Ellis Avenue: From its westerly city limits to its easterly city limits.
(12) Goetz Road: From the San Jacinto River to Ellis Avenue.
(13) Case Road: "G" Street to I-215 freeway (Bonnie Drive).
(14) Ethanac Road: From Barnett Road to the easterly city limits.

Sec. 10.40.030. - Use of truck routes required; exception.¶
(a) Whenever any truck route has been duly established pursuant to this chapter and so designated by appropriate signs, the operation of any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight of five tons shall drive on such route or routes and none other.
(b) Nothing in this section shall prohibit the operator of any vehicle exceeding the various maximum gross weights established by this section coming from a truck route established hereunder from having ingress and egress by direct route to and from restricted streets when necessary for the purpose of making pickups and deliveries of goods, wares or merchandise from or to any building or structure located on such restricted streets or for the purpose of delivering materials to be used in the actual and bona fide repair, alteration, remodeling or construction of any building or structure upon such restricted streets for which a building permit has previously been obtained therefor.

Sec. 10.40.040. - Enforceability.¶
The operation of any vehicle exceeding a maximum gross weight limit of five tons on any street or highway not designated in section 10.40.030(b), shall be in violation of this Code and punishable as set forth in chapters 1.16, 1.17 and/or 1.18 in the discretion of the city and as against any responsible person as defined in section 1.04.010 of this Code.
