2.16.010 - Consolidation of county offices—Waiver of residency requirement.

A. The following offices are consolidated:

  1. County clerk and recorder;

  2. District attorney and public administrator;

  3. Sheriff and coroner;

  4. County agricultural commissioner and county sealer of weights and measures;

  5. Director of finance, auditor, controller, treasurer, and tax collector, as provided by Chapter 2.14 of this code.

B. In accordance with Government Code Section 24001, the board of supervisors finds that the best interests of the county are served by waiving any statutory requirement that the holder(s) of the following office(s) be a registered voter or resident of Mono County:

  1. County agricultural commissioner and county sealer of weights and measures.

Except as provided in Section 2.16.010, all county offices are separate and distinct.
