2.44.010 - Saturday a holiday.

Every Saturday is a holiday as regards the transaction of the business in the public offices of the city.

2.44.020 - Defined.

Every holiday enumerated in Section 6700, subsections (a), (b), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j) and (k) of the Government Code is a holiday as regards the transaction of business in the public offices of the city, except as may be otherwise provided by ordinance or resolution.

2.44.030 - Special holidays.

Every day appointed by the President of the United States or the Governor of California for a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday, as provided in Section 6700 (n) of the Government Code, is not a city holiday unless so designated by the city council by resolution.

2.44.040 - Continuation of essential public services.

Notwithstanding any other provision contained in this chapter, police and fire protection services shall continue during every holiday. Other essential public services as may from time to time be designated by the city manager, shall continue during every holiday.
