2.32.010 - Appointment.

In order to comply with federal and state law, any to provide for the interests of the city, the city council shall appoint certain commissions and boards, except as may otherwise be specified in this code.

2.32.020 - Meetings.

Except as may otherwise be specified in this code, commissions and boards appointed by the city council shall meet in the manner and time prescribed by federal or state law or city ordinances.

2.32.030 - Attendance.

If any member of a commission or board fails to attend at least seventy-five (75) percent of the regular meetings during any twelve (12) month period, the position shall be declared vacant. The chairman of the commission or board other than the planning commission shall notify the city council of the vacancy within ten (10) days so that an appointment may be made.

2.32.040 - Procedure.

The rules of procedure shall be those prescribed by law. In the absence of direction under the law, Robert's Rules of Order shall be used.

2.32.050 - Chairman.

The members of each commission and board shall elect its chairman by majority vote.

2.32.060 - Members and terms.

The commissions and boards of the city shall consist of seven members who serve four-year terms, except as specified in Sections 2.32.080 and 2.36.020.

2.32.070 - Existing members.

The present members of commissions and boards shall serve their term of office and future appointment shall be governed by this chapter.

2.32.080 - Initial terms.

The present members of commissions or boards, with the exception of the planning commission, shall serve their term of office and future appointments shall be governed by this chapter. Terms of present and future planning commissioners shall be as specified in Chapter 2.36.

2.32.100 - Residency.

Except as may otherwise be specified in this code, all members of all city commissions and boards shall be residents of the city.

No member of any commission or board shall hold any salaried employment with the municipal corporation.

Except as may otherwise be specified in this code, vacancies on commissions and boards shall be filled by appointment by the city council for both full and unexpired terms.
