Sec. 2.16.010 - Offices of County Agricultural Commissioner and County Sealer of…

(A) The offices of County Agricultural Commissioner and County Sealer of Weights and Measures of the County of Mendocino are hereby consolidated.

(B) Such consolidated offices shall be known as the Department of Agriculture of the County of Mendocino.

(C) The Department of Agriculture of the County of Mendocino shall be under the authority of one (1) individual who shall carry out the duties of County Agricultural Commissioner and County Sealer of Weights and Measures of the County of Mendocino.

Sec. 2.16.020 - Offices of County Clerk-Recorder and County Assessor Consolidated.

The County offices of County Clerk-Recorder of Mendocino County are hereby consolidated with the office of the County Assessor, the duties of which shall be performed by one (1) person elected to such office in the manner prescribed by law. Effective date of this Ordinance shall be noon, January 4, 1999.

Sec. 2.16.030 - Offices of County Sheriff and County Coroner—Consolidated.

That the duties of Sheriff and of Coroner of said Mendocino County shall be consolidated.

Sec. 2.16.040 - Offices of County Treasurer and County Tax Collector—Consolidated.

The County offices of Treasurer and Tax Collector, respectively, are hereby consolidated and united in one (1) office to be known as Treasurer and Tax Collector of the County of Mendocino, the duties of which shall be performed by one (1) person elected to such office in the manner prescribed by law. These duties shall include those of Redemption Officer.

Sec. 2.16.041 - Qualification For Treasurer-Tax Collector.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 27000.6, the provisions of Government Code Sections 27000.7, 27000.8 and 27000.9, as may be amended from time to time, establishing qualifications and continuing education requirements for the office of County Treasurer, County Tax Collector, or County Treasurer-Tax Collector are hereby adopted and shall be applicable to the office of Treasurer-Tax Collector in Mendocino County. Evidence of such qualifications shall be presented to the registrar of voters with a candidate's nomination papers.

Sec. 2.16.050 - Separation of Consolidated Offices of County District Attorney and…

(A) The consolidated county offices of District Attorney and Public Administrator are separated effective 12:01 a.m., April 1, 1985.

(B) The separation of the foregoing offices is enacted pursuant to Government Code Section 24011.

The consolidated county offices of Auditor-Controller and Treasurer-Tax Collector are separated into two (2) separate offices, Office of the Auditor-Controller and the consolidated Office of the Treasurer-Tax Collector, effective 12:00 noon, January 4, 2027.
