2.32.010 - Established.

A Recreation and Parks Commission is established as an advisory commission to the City Council of the City.

2.32.020 - Powers and duties.

This Commission shall have the power and duty to investigate, study and make recommendations to the City Council on all matters pertaining to parks and recreation activities within the City.

2.32.030 - Rules of procedure.

The Commission shall consist of five members, two of whom shall be appointed for one year, one for two years, one for three years and one for four years. Upon the expiration of the respective terms of the Commissioners, their respective successors shall be appointed for terms of four years. The Commission shall elect its own Chairmember from among its members and shall establish such rules for procedure as it may find necessary.

2.32.040 - Membership.

Commissioners shall be resident voters of the City, and shall clear a criminal background screening. Commissioners shall be appointed by the City Council. Commissioners shall serve at the pleasure of the City Council and may be removed at any time by a majority vote of the City Council. If a Commissioner moves his or her place of residence outside of the City limits, he or she shall be deemed to have immediately vacated his or her office.
