The City Council chambers shall be located at the City Administrative Offices, 21815 Pioneer Boulevard, Hawaiian Gardens, California. Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held at such location. The City Council may, from time to time, adjourn such regular meetings to another place and may conduct special meetings at such locations as are deemed appropriate.

The date and time of regular meetings of the City Council shall be established by resolution of the City Council.

The proceedings of the Council shall be governed by such rules as the City Council may prescribe by resolution. However, no ordinance, resolution, proceeding or other action of the City Council shall be invalidated, or the legality thereof otherwise affected, by the failure or omission to observe or to follow said rules.

In order to expedite the orderly procedure of the City Council meetings, in the event the Mayor cannot be present, the Council shall also elect some other member of the City Council who shall act as Mayor Pro Tem in his or her absence.

Pursuant to Sections 1301 and 1000 of the California Elections Code, the City of Hawaiian Gardens' general municipal election date shall be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of even-numbered years to coincide with the Statewide election.
