El Centro Municipal Code Div. 5 Vehicle Requirements

All buses or motor coaches operated under the provisions of this article shall be under the supervision and control of the chief of police. Every such bus or motor coach shall be at all times subject to the inspection of any police officer of the city.

The chief of police shall not permit any driver of a bus or motor coach operated under the provisions of this article to drive any bus or motor coach in the city while such bus or motor coach, or any equipment used thereon or therewith, is unsafe, defective or unsanitary. It shall be unlawful for the driver of a bus or motor coach to fail, neglect or refuse to comply with any order of the chief of police issued under this section.

(a) The color scheme, insignia and other distinguishable characteristics of each vehicle operated as a bus or motor coach under the provisions of this article shall be as provided in the application pursuant to which the certificate of public convenience and necessity under which the bus or motor coach in question is in operation, was issued.

(b) There shall be displayed upon the side of each such bus or motor coach the name of the owner of such bus or motor coach and there shall be displayed upon the back of each such bus or motor coach the number of the bus or motor coach.
