11.21.010 - Definitions.

As used in this chapter:

"Skateboard" means any board or object that is mounted on roller skate type wheels and which lacks a handheld steering mechanism and which is intended to be ridden by standing or sitting thereon.

11.21.020 - Skateboarding prohibited.

No person shall propel or ride a skateboard upon, across or around any parking lot, sidewalk, walkway or other portion of the buildings, property or premises of the city of Duarte City Hall complex at 1600 Huntington Drive or of the Duarte Unified School District Administration Building complex at 1620 Huntington Drive in the city of Duarte.

11.21.030 - Penalty for violation.

Any person violating any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of an infraction. Any skateboard used in the violation of any provision of this chapter shall be seized by the enforcing officer and held by the city of Duarte pending a determination by the prosecuting attorney that such skateboard is no longer needed for evidentiary purposes. At such time as the prosecuting attorney determines that such skateboard is no longer needed for evidentiary purposes, the city shall notify the owner or person from whom such skateboard was seized that such skateboard may be reclaimed. If such owner or person is a juvenile, then the notice shall be to the parent or legal guardian of said juvenile.
