15.62.010 - Statement of purpose.¶
It is the purpose of this chapter to promote the public health, safety and general welfare and to minimize the loss of life due to drowning in the areas of the city where the All American Canal traverses the city limits of the city. In order to accomplish this purpose, this chapter establishes methods and provisions for the construction and/or the funding of the construction of fencing of the All American Canal upon all new development adjacent to the All American Canal.

15.62.020 - Compliance.¶
No development, structure or land shall hereinafter be granted any building permit, tentative and final map, subdivided, variance, conditional use permit and/or any other discretionary permit, including a negative declaration or environmental impact report, without full compliance with the terms of this chapter and other applicable regulations which may be established by resolution of the city council.

15.62.030 - Establishment of an All American Canal fence construction permit.¶
An All American Canal fence construction permit shall be obtained from the city building department before construction or development begins on any project or development which is adjacent to the All American Canal within the city limits of the city. A six-foot chain-linked fence shall be constructed by the developer and/or owner of the project which is adjacent to the All American Canal as per building code requirements or the developer and/or owner may provide the funds necessary for the construction of the required fence to the city.

15.62.040 - Violation.¶
A violation of this chapter shall be a misdemeanor and shall be punishable by a fine of five hundred dollars and/or six months in jail or both.
