303.3 Unlisted Appliances.

Except as otherwise permitted in this code, unlisted equipment and appliances shall be approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction prior to being installed. Unlisted equipment and appliances shall be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instruc tions and with clearances from combustible materials in
accordance with Section 303.10 or Section 303.10.1.
