REGULATING PASSENGER BUS/TOUR OPERATIONS WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS

10.70.010 Definition.

As used in this chapter, “passenger bus/tour bus” means any motor vehicle designed for carrying nine or more passengers and engaged in the transportation of persons for compensation as defined in Sections 612and 233(b) of the California Vehicle Code. (Ord. 93-7 § 1, 1993.)

10.70.020 Passenger bus/tour bus operation prohibited.

It is unlawful to operate any passenger bus/tour bus on any street in the City, except San Rafael Avenue, Community Road and Beach Road between the intersection of Main Street and the entrance to the San Francisco Yacht Club parking lot. Furthermore, passenger buses/tour buses operating on the aforementioned streets, may park on those streets only for the purpose of loading and unloading passengers for a period of time not to exceed fifteen minutes. (Ord. 93-7 § 1, 1993.)

10.70.030 Exemptions.

The restrictions contained in this chapter shall not apply to the following:

  • A. Vehicles authorized to operate by the City Manager or his designee;

B. Vehicles used to transport emergency services personnel, and/or equipment, or to evacuate persons in emergency situations, when so authorized by emergency service personnel of the City or the Tiburon Fire District. (Ord. 93-7 § 1, 1993.)
