10.56.010 Use of certain streets prohibited—Signs required—Exceptions.

A. Whenever any resolution of this City designates and describes any street or portion thereof as a street the use of which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle, the City Manager or Police Chief shall erect and maintain appropriate signs on these streets affected by such resolution. All streets lying west of San Rafael Avenue on Belvedere Island are restricted to use by vehicles with a maximum height of eleven feet, a maximum width of eight feet, and a maximum length of twenty feet. On Corinthian Island all streets are restricted to use by vehicles with a maximum height of nine feet, maximum width of seven feet, and maximum length of twenty feet. Violation of this Subsection shall be deemed an infraction.

B. Those streets and parts of streets established by resolution of the City Council are declared to be streets the use of which is prohibited by any commercial vehicle. The provisions of this Section shall not apply to passenger buses under the jurisdiction of the public utilities commission. 10.56.020 Private driveway use restrictions—Commercial vehicle defined.

A. No person shall operate or drive a commercial vehicle in, on or across any private driveway approach or sidewalk area or the driveway itself without the consent of the owner or occupant of the property, if a sign or markings are in place indicating that the use of such driveway is prohibited.

B. For the purpose of this Section, “commercial vehicle” means a vehicle having a rated capacity in excess of onehalf ton. (Ord. 155 NS § 8.2, 1967; prior code § 13-37.)
