Chapter 18.45 — F-W FLOODWAY DISTRICT

§ 18.45.010. Purpose of district.

  • A. The floodway or F-W district is intended to be applied to lands which lie within stream or river or drainage channels and to adjacent areas which are periodically inundated, or which will be inundated by a design flood. The design flood shall be specifically defined for each particular F- W zone upon the zone map.

  • B. The regulations set forth in this chapter are intended to provide for the reasonable measures for the protection of life and property in the floodway areas.

§ 18.45.020. Principal permitted uses.

The following are principal permitted uses in the F-W zone:

  • A. General agriculture, but no including buildings or structures;

  • B. Recreational uses on open land, including public and private parks and golf courses.

§ 18.45.030. Uses permitted with a use permit.

The following uses are permitted with a use permit:

  • A. Water, sewer, roadway, bridge and other such facilities necessary for public health and safety;

  • B. Minor or temporary structures incidental to agricultural or recreational uses which will not impede flood flow and are of floodproof design;

  • C. Excavation of natural materials or construction of earthworks or waterflow control devices. (Ord. 337 Exh. A, 1991)

§ 18.45.040. Other regulations.
