§ 2.12.010. City Clerk.¶
The City Council of the City of Vernon shall appoint and establish tenure of a City Clerk by resolution.
The City Clerk shall have the powers and duties provided for under the laws of the State of California, the Government Code of the State of California and such other powers and duties as prescribed by resolutions or ordinances adopted by the City Council. (Prior code § 2.7)
§ 2.12.020. City Treasurer—Appointment.¶
The City Council of the City of Vernon shall appoint and establish the tenure of a City Treasurer by resolution.

§ 2.12.030. City Treasurer—Powers and duties.¶
The City Treasurer shall receive and safely keep all money coming into his or her hands as Treasurer, comply with all laws governing the deposit and securing of public funds and the handling of trust funds in his or her possession, collect City taxes and license fees and have such further powers and duties provided for under the laws of the State of California, the Government Code of the State of California and such other powers and duties as prescribed by resolutions or ordinances adopted by the City Council.
