2.42.010 - Mileage, food and lodging expenses.

Officials and employees of the county when traveling upon official business and using their private automobiles shall be allowed the sum of twenty-five cents per mile, for each mile traveled, which payment shall be reimbursement in full for actual traveling expenses; the actual expenses for other forms of transportation shall be paid in accordance with the county travel policy. They shall, in addition thereto, be allowed their reasonable expenses of food and lodging when traveling outside the county upon official business as provided by the travel policy adopted by the board.

2.42.020 - Travel by conveyance other than own—Reimbursement allowed.

In all cases where county officials or employees travel by public conveyance, or in vehicles other than their own, they shall be allowed the actual expenses of transportation so incurred.

2.42.030 - Claims subject to board approval.

All claims for mileage and for costs of food and lodging shall be subject to the approval of the board of supervisors of the county.

2.42.040 - Use of county vehicles—Food and lodging expenses still applicable.

Where county vehicles are employed in travel of county officials or employees, and expenses of operation of such vehicles are paid by the county, no travel expenses shall be allowed, other than the expenses of food and lodging incurred outside the county, and other expenses other than those pertaining to the operation of the vehicle.

2.42.050 - Employee attendance at job-related conferences.

All employees may be permitted to attend job-related conferences or meetings with pay, with approval of the department head. These job-related conferences shall deal directly with the employee's position with the county. The burden of proof that the employee attended said conference or meeting shall be upon the employee.
