2.38.010 - Findings.

The board of supervisors of the county finds, on the basis of local employment conditions, the state of county jail facilities, and other pertinent circumstances considered by this board, that the operation of Section 1208 of the Penal Code of the state, providing for the operation of a work furlough program for county jail prisoners is feasible in the county.

2.38.020 - Creation of board—Determination of persons eligible for program.

A. There is created a work furlough administrative board consisting of the county probation officer, who is the chairman, one representative designated from the sheriff's department and one representative designated from the district attorney's office.

B. The function of the advisory board shall be merely advisory to the work furlough administrator. The work furlough administrator shall make the final determination of persons eligible to participate in the work furlough program.

2.38.030 - Administrator—Designated.

The probation officer of the county is hereby designated as the officer who shall perform the functions of work furlough administrator.

2.38.040 - Administrator—Authority.

The work furlough administrator shall have the right to revoke the work furlough status of any persons for such cause as is legally sufficient.

2.38.050 - Eligibility for program.

Any county jail prisoner whose sentencing order predates enactment of the ordinance codified in this chapter shall not be considered eligible for participation in the work furlough program unless that sentencing order is specifically amended to permit such participation.

2.38.060 - Transfer of prisoners from one county jail to another.

The probation officer of the county, acting in his capacity as work furlough administrator, may enter into agreements whereby a person sentenced to, or imprisoned in, the jail of Tehama or another county, but regularly residing in the other county or regularly employed in the other county, may be transferred by the sheriff of the county in which he or she is confined, to the jail of the county in which he or she resided or is employed, in order that he or she may be enabled to continue in his or her regular employment or education in such other county through such county's work furlough program.
