10-8-1: CROSSING FIRE HOSE:¶
No vehicle shall be driven over any unprotected hose of a Fire Department when laid down on any street or private driveway, to be used at any fire or alarm of fire, without the consent of the Fire Department official in command.
10-8-2: DRIVING THROUGH FUNERAL PROCESSIONS:¶
No driver of a vehicle or motorman of a streetcar shall drive between vehicles comprising a funeral procession while they are in motion and when the vehicles in the processions are conspicuously so designated.
10-8-3: CLINGING TO MOVING VEHICLES:¶
Any person riding upon any bicycle, motorcycle, coaster, roller skates or any toy vehicle shall not attach the same or himself to any moving vehicle upon any roadway. (Ord. 406, 6-6-49)
10-8-4: RIDING OR DRIVING ON SIDEWALK:¶
No person shall ride, drive, propel, or cause to be propelled any vehicle or animal across or upon any sidewalk excepting over permanently constructed driveways and excepting when it is necessary for any temporary purpose to drive a loaded vehicle across a sidewalk; provided further, that said sidewalk area be substantially protected by wooden planks two inches (2") thick, and written permission be previously obtained from the City Traffic Engineer. Such wooden planks shall not be permitted to remain upon such sidewalk area during the hours from six o'clock (6:00) P.M. to six o'clock (6:00) A.M. (Ord. 746, 5-3-76)
10-8-5: NEW PAVEMENT; DRIVING ON:¶
No person shall ride or drive any animal or any vehicle over or across any newly made pavement or freshly painted marking in any street when a barrier or sign is in place warning persons not to drive over or across the pavement or marking, or when a sign is in place stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed. (Ord. 406, 6-6-49)
10-8-6: RECKLESS DRIVING ON VACANT LOTS:¶
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate an automobile in or upon any vacant lots, school grounds, church grounds or any other place, except public highways, in the City in such a way, and manner as to indicate a wanton or wilful disregard for the safety of persons or property, or in such a way as to endanger the person or property of another. (Ord. 322, 2-20-39)
10-8-7: OFF HIGHWAY USE OF MOTORCYCLES AND MOTOR BIKES:¶
It is unlawful for any person to ride or operate any motorcycle or motor bike of any kind on any private property or unoccupied public property within one-quarter (¼) of a mile of any school, hospital, convalescent home or residential area as herein defined except upon a regularly established private road, driveway or parking lot appurtenant to a structure on that property. A residential area within the meaning of this Section means any area one-quarter (¼) mile in depth abutting a public or private road and one-quarter (¼) mile in length measured along such road and which contains any apartment house, condominium, multiple unit dwelling structure or four (4) or more residences of any kind or combination. This Section shall not apply to lands within a National forest or to property specifically devoted to a raceway, hill climb, motorcycle trail or similar use pursuant to a permit therefor issued by a governmental agency.
