Chapter 12.22 — EXEMPTIONS TO PUBLIC CONTRACTS CODE

§ 12.22.010. Contracts Exempted From Bidding Requirements.¶
Notwithstanding the provisions of California Public Contracts Code Section 20162 or any other similar provision of the California Public Contracts Code, the threshold amount for contracts for public projects which must be let to the lowest responsible bidder after notice shall be $40,000. The City Council may authorize expenditure of up to $40,000 for any contract for a public project without requiring formal bids for the public project as provided in the California Public Contracts Code. § 12.22.020. Delegation of Authority to Let Contracts for Public Projects.¶
The City Council may act by resolution or minute order to authorize the City Manager or the Director of Public Works to let contracts for public projects. (Ord. 12-02 §3; Ord. 19-01 §2)
