This chapter does not require alteration of existing electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire protection or life-safety systems which are in compliance with the code in effect at the time of their construction or installation. The application of SFEBC Section 501.7 relating to homeless shelters does not waive the requirement for compliance with the provisions of this chapter and Chapter 5C within the time limits set forth in Table 5B-A. This section does not exempt any building from compliance with the requirements of State or Federal disability access regulations.
