Sec. 2-621. - Procedure for deposit of city money received by officers or employees.

(a) In accordance with provisions of Government Code § 36522, any officer or employee collecting or receiving any money belonging to or for the use of the city shall forthwith deposit the money with the city treasurer. The city treasurer shall issue receipts for such deposits in triplicate; one for the officer or employee so depositing funds and one copy of which shall be filed forthwith with the city clerk. The receipt shall show from whom the deposit is received, the date received, the fund to which the deposit is to be credited, and the source of the purpose of such deposit.

(b) The city clerk, upon receiving the copy of the receipt, shall enter the deposit on the city's books and accounts, charging the treasurer with the amount so deposited with him.
