2.46.010 - Intent and purpose.

It is the intent of this chapter to establish regulations for the safe use of designated skateboarding and skating areas within the city.

2.46.020 - Designated skateboarding and skating areas.

The areas designated for skateboarding and skating within the city are:

A. The skatepark located at the southwest corner of Margaret Todd Park, 201 N. Willow Ave. in the city.

2.46.030 - Regulations for use of designated skateboarding and skating areas.

The following regulations shall apply within the designated skateboarding and skating areas:

A. No person shall skate or skateboard at times other than those established as the hours of operation. The hours of operation shall be six a.m. until ten p.m.;

B. No person shall use the skateboarding areas for uses other than skateboarding and in-line skating;

C. No person shall use the designated skateboarding and skating areas unless they wear proper safety equipment including a helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads;

D. No person shall ride or cause bicycles to be on the skating surface of the skateboarding/skating area;

E. No person shall use alcohol or drugs in the designated skateboarding/skating area or in the surrounding park area;

F. No person shall litter in the skateboarding area. All persons using the skatepark must place any trash they create at or bring to the skatepark in cans provided by the city;

G. No person shall cause graffiti or tagging on the skateboarding/skating areas or anywhere in the surrounding park;

H. No person shall skate on the curbs, sidewalk, fences, railings and/or driveway of the city-owned area surrounding the skateboarding/skating areas.

2.46.040 - Violations and penalties.

Violation of any of the provisions of Section 2.46.030 may be grounds for removal from the designated skateboard/skating area and shall be punishable as an infraction with a fine of one hundred fifty dollars.
