13.32.010 - Procedure.

A. Any person desiring to move any building or house in, on or through any street in the city shall give notice thereof to the building official before commencing to move the house or building, specifying the time when, and the street or streets, in, on or through which the house or building is to be moved. The building official shall thereupon grant a permit to the person applying therefor, specifying the street in, through or on which the house or building is to be moved and the time when the same shall be moved; provided, that the building official, upon giving the person making application notice, may change the route of travel whenever the safety of the city requires it, and the person obtaining the permit shall thereupon conform to the change.

B. The applicant may be required to post a bond acceptable to the city in an amount deemed necessary by the building official to protect the city against damage to streets or other public property, including an amount sufficient to cover the anticipated damage or destruction of any trees in streets or public areas, and in connection therewith the building official shall secure the approval of the superintendent of parks before issuing any permit under this section.
