18-29 Height
All mail receptacles must be installed at the curb not less than forth inches or more than forty-six inches above the street at the point of installation. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 1.)
18-30 Installation At Property Line
Installation is to be made at the common property line so that two boxes may be served by one stop. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 2.)
18-31 Size
Receptacles must be of sufficient size to hold magazines, newspapers and small parcels as well as letter mail and must protect the mail from the weather. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 3.)
18-32 Small Box With Rack Not Acceptable
Small boxes with separate magazine racks are not acceptable.
18-33 Homemade Acceptable
Receptacles may be homemade of any design that suits the individual. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 5.)
18-34 House Number Required
All boxes must have the house number on the side of the box visible to the carrier on his line of travel. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 6.)
18-35 House Address
The address of the house must be that street which the entrance of the house faces. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 7.)
18-36 Street Signs Installed Prior To Delivery
Street signs must be installed before delivery to the area can be started. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 8.)
18-37 Access To Be Unobstructed
Access to the box by post office vehicles must not be constructed by parked vehicles, boards, toys, bicycles or other obstacles during delivery time. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 9.)
18-38 Sidewalk Sleeve To Be Installed
Contractors will install a sleeve in the sidewalk at the time the sidewalk is poured so that a pole may be installed to support the mail receptacle if delivery is desired. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 10.)
18-39 Contractor Responsible For Installation
The contractor is responsible for installation of all boxes at locations approved. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 11.)
18-40 Location Plan Required
The city building inspector will require the contractor to submit a place showing mailbox locations for approval. (Ord. No. 134-AC, § 12.)
18-41 Plan And Manufacturer List Adopted
Attachment “A” to the ordinance codified in this article gives a plan for mailbox installation. Attachment “B” to the ordinance codified in article gives a list of approved manufacturers of rural and contemporary style suburban mailboxes which may be installed by the developer or resident. Attachment “A” and Attachment “B” are hereby incorporated into and made a part of this article as though fully set forth. (Ord. No. 134-AC)
