10.64.010 - Driving or riding on sidewalks.

It is unlawful for any person to ride, drive, propel or cause to be propelled, any motor vehicle or animal across or upon any sidewalk excepting over permanently constructed driveways and excepting when it is necessary for any temporary purpose to drive a loaded vehicle across a sidewalk. Such sidewalk area shall be adequately protected by wooden planks, and written permission therefor shall be previously obtained from the city transportation engineer. Such wooden planks shall not be permitted to remain upon such sidewalk area during the hours of six p.m. to six a.m.

10.64.020 - Driving or riding on new pavement or freshly painted surfaces.

No person shall ride or drive any animal or vehicle over or across any newly made pavement or freshly painted marking in any street when a barrier, sign, cone marker or other warning device is in place warning persons not to drive over or across such pavement or marking, or when a sign is in place stating that the street or any portion thereof is closed, or where barricades have been erected.

10.64.030 - Limited access roadways.

No person shall drive a vehicle onto or from any limited access roadway except at such entrances and exits as are established by public authority.

10.64.040 - Motor vehicles prohibited on certain easements.

When the authorized signs hereinafter described are in place giving notice thereof, no person shall drive, park or stop any motor vehicle, dune buggy, motorized bicycles or any other motor or engine propelled vehicle upon any riding or hiking trail, or other unpaved easement such as an open space easement, where the recorded dedication for such riding trail or easement prohibits the use of motorized vehicles thereon. The signs for the enforcement of this chapter shall state "No Motorized Vehicles Permitted—Per Ordinance No. 404, N.S." and shall be placed at all major entrances to such easements. The words "No Motorized Vehicles Permitted" shall be at least three inches in height and the sign itself shall be at least two hundred square inches in size.

10.64.050 - Erection and placement of signs or barriers.

No public utility or public agency shall erect or place in any street any barrier or sign except of a type approved by the city transportation engineer. It is unlawful for any operator or pedestrian to disobey the instructions of any such approved barrier or sign.

10.64.060 - Roller skates, skateboards, scooters and similar devices prohibited in certain districts.

A. It is unlawful for any person riding upon or by any means of roller skates, skateboards, scooters or similar devices to go upon any roadway, or upon any street or paved surface in any area zoned for commercial use within the city.

B. It is unlawful for any person riding upon or by any means of roller skates, skateboards, scooters and similar devices to go upon any commercial or municipal structure or lot which is designated or used to accommodate the parking of motorized vehicles, excepting the parking of bicycles in such structures or lots where permitted by designated bicycle parking zones.
