10.04.010 - Definitions generally.¶
A. The following words and phrases, when used in this title, shall for the purpose of this title have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this chapter.
B. Whenever any words or phrases used in this title are not defined, but are defined in the Vehicle Code of the state and amendments thereto, such definitions shall apply.

10.04.020 - Central traffic district.¶
"Central traffic district" means all streets indicated on the central traffic district map on file in the office of the city clerk and portions of streets within the area.

10.04.030 - Curb.¶
"Curb" means the lateral boundary of the roadway whether such curb is marked by curbing construction, or not so marked.

10.04.040 - Divisional islands.¶
"Divisional island" means a dividing section of not less than two feet in width, either unpaved or delineated by curbs, lines or other markings on the roadway, and separating opposing or conflicting streams of traffic.

10.04.050 - Holidays.¶
"Holidays" means New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. In the event any such day shall fall upon a Sunday, the next succeeding Monday shall be a holiday.

10.04.060 - Loading zone.¶
"Loading zone" means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers or materials.

10.04.070 - Official time standard.¶
"Official time standard" means standard time or daylight savings time as may be in current use in the city.

10.04.080 - Parkway.¶
"Parkway" means that portion of a street other than a roadway or a sidewalk.

10.04.090 - Passenger loading zone.¶
"Passenger loading zone" means the space adjacent to a curb reserved for the exclusive use of vehicles during the loading or unloading of passengers.

10.04.100 - Police officer.¶
"Police officer" means every officer or auxiliary of the police department, or any officer authorized to direct or regulate traffic or to make arrests for violations of traffic regulations.

10.04.110 - Stop.¶
"Stop" where required, means complete cessation of movement.

10.04.120 - Vehicle Code.¶
"Vehicle Code" means the Vehicle Code of the State.
