10.48.010 - Loading zones and passenger loading zones—Authority to establish—Signposting.¶
A. The city transportation engineer is authorized to determine the location of loading zones and passenger loading zones and direct the installation of appropriate signs or markings at these locations.
B. No restriction relating to loading or unloading imposed under Sections 10.48.010 through 10.48.040 of this chapter shall be effective unless appropriate signs or markings are in place.
C. It is unlawful for any operator of a vehicle to disobey the provisions of this Sections 10.48.010 through 10.48.040 of this chapter when appropriate signs or markings are in place.

10.48.020 - Bus zones—Authority to establish—Restrictions.¶
A. The city transportation engineer is authorized to direct the establishment of bus zones opposite curb space for the loading and unloading of buses.
B. No person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle except a bus in a bus zone, and no bus shall utilize a bus zone except as authorized by the city transportation engineer.

10.48.030 - Passenger loading zone standing restrictions—Exceptions.¶
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle for any purpose or period of time other than for the expeditious loading or unloading of passengers or for the purpose of depositing mail in an adjacent mailbox in any place marked as a passenger loading zone between seven a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays and then only for a period not to exceed three minutes, except as follows:
A. When a zone is in front of a hotel or in front of a mailbox the restrictions shall apply at all times;
B. When such zone is in front of a theater the restrictions shall apply at all times except when such theater is closed;
C. When a sign has been installed which designates the period during which the loading zone is in effect, the restrictions shall apply only during the period designated on the sign.

10.48.040 - Loading zone standing restrictions—Exceptions.¶
A. No person shall stop, stand or park any vehicle for any purpose or length of time other than a commercial vehicle for the expeditious unloading and delivery or pickup and loading of property carried in the cargo area of the vehicle in any place marked as a commercial loading zone between seven a.m. and six p.m. of any day except Sundays and holidays and then only for a period not to exceed twenty minutes.
B. The driver of a vehicle may stop temporarily at a loading zone for the purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading passengers when such stopping does not interfere with any vehicle which is waiting to enter or about the enter such zone to load or unload property and then only for a period not to exceed three minutes.
C. When a sign has been installed which designates the period during which the loading zone is in effect, the restrictions shall apply only during the period designated on the sign.
