10.20.010 - Authority.¶
The Board of Supervisors of the County of Monterey hereby exercises the option provided for in Chapter 2, Division 17, of the Food and Agricultural Code of California to establish a schedule of fees for the certification of all produce other than head lettuce packed in standard containers.

10.20.020 - Inspection and certificate.¶
Upon request of the shipper, grower or other interested person, the agricultural commissioner, shall cause to have produce inspected to determine whether said produce meets all the requirements of Division 17 or the requirements of the state or county of intended destination, and to issue a certificate so stating.

10.20.030 - Fees—Schedule.¶
A. The following constitutes a schedule of fees for the certificates provided for in Section 10.20.020, to be paid for by the owners, shippers or other interested parties:
One dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) for twenty-five (25) or fewer containers of packaged produce other than head lettuce;
Three dollars ($3.00) for shipment of more than twenty-five (25) containers of packed produce, other than head lettuce, in not more than a truck-load lot, or car lot;
A flat fee of five dollars per disposal order for any bulk commodity other than head lettuce shall be charged.
B. Charges for inspections made pursuant to Subsection A of this Section shall be doubled if made prior to six a.m. or after six p.m., or if made on a Sunday or on any legal County holiday.

10.20.040 - Fees—Payment.¶
The fees provided for in Section 10.20.030 shall be paid to the County of Monterey through the office of the agricultural commissioner. The fees shall be due and payable on the first day of the following the month in which the inspection was performed, and shall be delinquent on the tenth day of said following month. Any owner, shipper or other interested person whose account becomes delinquent may, at the discretion of the Agricultural Commissioner, be required to pay said fees at the time of issuance of the certificates.

10.20.050 - Fees—Use.¶
The fees paid pursuant to this Chapter shall be deemed to be advances toward defraying the actual costs of inspection.
