4.16.010 - Curfew for persons under eighteen years of age-Exemptions.¶
It is unlawful for any minor under the age of eighteen years to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play, or drive or be driven in a motor vehicle in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, public buildings, places of amusement and entertainment, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places, between the hour of eleven p.m. and daylight of the following day, official county time; provided, however, that the provisions of this section do not apply to a minor accompanied by his or her parent or legal guardian, or other adult person having legal care and custody of such minor, or where the minor is upon an emergency errand or legitimate business directed by his or her parent or legal guardian.

4.16.020 - Exemptions to chapter applicability.¶
The provisions of this chapter, save and except Section 4.16.030 hereof, shall not apply on nights where the minor dealt with is attending a bona fide meeting, school activity, dance, or party at a church, school, or youth club, or a theater, provided that on such nights it is unlawful for a minor to loiter, idle, wander, stroll, play or drive or be driven in a motor vehicle in or upon the public streets, highways, roads, alleys, parks, vacant lots, or other unsupervised places between the hours of twelve midnight and daylight immediately following, except where such minor is accompanied by a parent or legal guardian or adult person having the legal care and custody of such minor.

4.16.030 - Permitting violations prohibited.¶
It is unlawful, within the county, for any proprietor, keeper, clerk or any other person having charge or control of any cafe, tavern, restaurant, bar, eating place or public dancehall, poolhall or bowling alley, to permit any person under the age of eighteen years to remain in such public place between the hour of eleven p.m. and daylight immediately following, unless such person is accompanied by a parent, guardian or other adult having the legal care and custody of such minor.

4.16.040 - Responsibility to report violations.¶
Each owner, agent, manager or keeper of a hotel, boardinghouse, lodginghouse, tenement house, motor court or apartment house shall immediately report to the sheriff's office the presence therein of any minor under the age of eighteen years, unless such minor is accompanied by the parent, guardian or other adult person having the legal care and custody of such minor; and in making such report shall state to the sheriff's office the minor's name, age, last known place of abode, and name of the parents or guardian, or other custodian of such minor, so far as such information can be ascertained from the minor, or otherwise.

4.16.050 - Arrest of minor for violation-Notice to probation officer.¶
Whenever any minor is arrested for the violation of this chapter, the office of the county probation officer shall be notified, and a copy of the arrest report, setting forth the circumstances of the arrest of such minor, shall be forwarded to the office of the probation officer.

4.16.060 - Violations by adults and minors-Penalty.¶
A. Any adult person who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be subject to a fine of not more than five hundred dollars; and if such fine is not paid, by imprisonment in the county jail for a period of not more than six months.
B. Any minor who violates any of the provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and subject to the provisions of Chapter 2, Article 6 of the Welfare and Institutions Code of the state.
