§ 2.56.010. Required—Amount.

A. The officers of the City named in this section, before entering upon the duties of their respective offices shall each execute to the City a bond in the penal sum mentioned next to the name of such officer, with a surety company as sole surety thereon, or with two sureties satisfactory to the City Council, which bond shall be conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties of such officer, including in the same bond the duties of all officers of which he is made the ex officio either by general law, this Code or any ordinances of the City. Each such bond so furnished shall be subject to the approval of the Mayor of the City. In the event it is deemed by the City Council, at any time, that the surety or sureties, or either of them, upon a bond so furnished are insufficient to meet the penal sum thereof, a new bond may be required and shall be furnished by the officer as a substitute therefor.

B. The officers and the penal sums of their respective bonds shall be as follows:

  1. Clerk: in the penal sum of $1,000.

  2. Treasurer: in the penal sum of $25,000.

  3. As to each of the other officers of the City the amount of the bond, if any are required, shall be fixed from time to time by resolution of the Council.

§ 2.56.030. State law applicable.

All the provisions of any law of this State relating to the official bonds of officers, existing at the time of the presentation of any of the bonds mentioned in Section 2.56.010, shall apply to such bonds.
